Nageen Lake, the more gentile lake belonging to Srinagar, (although there were many dotted about and all joined up) This end of the book started 26th June and finished 6th July 1981.

These notes only scratched the surface of time spent in Kashmir, but it does close up the Himachel Pradesh stuff pretty conveniently.

This book was not about the (at times) grazing pace of life in Kashmir. But I felt I should paste this slogan in, as another side of the coin to what we were peacefully observing from the comfort of houseboats.

This is another ” slider gallery”
I didn’t want the whole site to be an immediate mass of images.
As I come across or think it, I’m trying to add information in comment form, if a picture is clicked on; the words appear on the right hand side. I find this a more comfortable way of viewing the images – they click on backwards or forwards in a Facebook like way. Unfortunately it’s not a reel and stops at both ends.

I went back to Srinagar in 83, staying on a house boat and painting from there. This is a link to a blog that I produced from the paper based work output from my stay.

We had a fortnight in Ley, Ladak, stopping overnight at a monastery which ended up costing a fair bit more than we expected

This is a link to a set of drawings that I produced using china pencils - the type they score crockery with.
